Van Halen's "Dance the Night Away" was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way". The song was sparked during the recording of Van Halen II while the band members were standing in a circle humming together for ideas.
Did you know that Dance the Night Away was written on tour. It had way more chords than Eddie’s usual shredding, and it almost didn’t make the album because it sounded too soft for Van Halen fans. Rock history, y’all.
