Companies optimize for people who can pass the coding interview instead of optimizing for people who can do the job.

Can we start normalize engineers having emotions? Sometimes I cry. That in no way means I can't do my job. Having emotions and being capable are NOT mutually exclusive.

Hey, Hi, Hello 👋🏻 Just wanted to say you’re doing a great job. No yeah, shut up, do not argue with the me, you’re doing amazing. Great job. A+. Etc. 💕

I was recently reminded of that Mr. Rogers quote "Find the helpers", and realized it's not just applicable to little kids. In my job in tech, there are helpers. When people push you down, they are there. Find them. Cherish them. Be them for others.

Why do I dislike the phrase "are you passionate about" in job descriptions? Let me tell you about the "passionate" discussions I've had in the tech industry, and how quickly/frequently they turn into "she's being a b!tch".

I've reached the "literally can't remember how old I'm turning without doing math" birthday. 😆

We were so excited to host a virtual field trip to #azureSphere with @IGNITEworldwide last month! It was an amazing opportunity to interact with some very creative students! igniteworldwide.org/2021/04/29/fie…

Women don't need more imposter syndrome workshops. We need better managers.

...if I have to listen to one more dude "explain" difficulties women face in the tech industry to me...

One thing I've learned in my career is that saying "I'll never do x" is a pretty solid way to guarantee that I'll do x at some point.

There are some people totally make my day by leaving nice comments in my PRs. So, just a reminder, you can add compliments into pull requests as well as constructive feedback. 😊
