My column in today's @htTweets: In India, one party has conducted a thorough post-election evaluation and established new systems to deliver better outcomes in 2024. Ironically, this party is the victor, not the vanquished. bit.ly/2kEsT9v

#GE2019: Exit polls
To assess exit polls we need info any at least three things. Sample size. Number of survey locations. Vote share. Without these at state level there is no point discussing numbers at state level.
Fascinating read, incl. "Displacing unemployment as the number-one voting issue for voters was the issue of #development, or vikas ... development issues mattered to 26% of the respondents." #LS2019
Insights from @LoknitiCSDS post-poll survey: "an election that had promised to be issue-laden at the start of the year may just have ended up bypassing the real issues under the garb of 'vikas' and nationalism — both identified with Modi’s leadership." thehindu.com/elections/lok-…
A few thoughts on the Indian election. More from the students of Politics of Contemporary India & South Asia in @SPAISBristol in coming weeks. The cohort have been brilliant this year & in previous years too! #LS2019 southasianpolitics.blogs.bristol.ac.uk/?fbclid=IwAR3f…
