Kirby lacks executive presence, projects low confidence and seems disengaged from what’s happening on the ground. Only spoke to his direct report, doesn’t seem connected to the players. Likely can’t attract a strong coach as Kirby would be overpowered.

So @dell, another day goes by with no solution. Just waiting for me to agree to a couple hours of diagnostic time vs running the business. Does @dell care? Nope! Their techs are on the clock whether they’re helping me or not. #reallydell?


So, in a typical convo with @dell, the choices to address the second paperweight (ie non-working laptop) are work for them for free as a tech or return it. The gentleman on the phone exhausted my patience defending & @dell’s customer unfriendly practices. #reallydell?


So the @Dell warranty program works like this - the “customer” (me) agrees to spend an infinite number of hours on chat or phone serving as the hands to push buttons as technician after technician prods, updates and wipes out the memory. Cost to me? Irrelevant. #reallydell?


Back @dell again. 2nd replacement breaks within a week. I’ve been the hands team for a tech who says a part must be replaced. No part available until 2021. Next day a technician shows up with a part. #reallydell?


So the @dell laptop replacement for the @dell laptop that lasted 2 days is broken. Has been for days. @dell has no part til 2021 but sent a technician with the part. How does that work? #reallydell?


After another hour of persistence on the phone today I found a couple of Dell folks who helped me out. If commitments are honored, this will be solved in a few days

It’s day 4 of the #dell paperweight (I.e. new but broken laptop) adventure. Looking forward to a promised call from a senior supervisor who claims he can fix this. Will it be another hour of hoops to jump thru? We will see. #reallydell?

#dell it isn’t about mistakes - those happen. Rather, the measure of great service is how you overcome them - or, in #dell’s case, you simply don’t #reallydell?


#dell support hung up after 10 minute wait during which the technician went ghost & stopped responding #reallydell?


#dell did offer to divest me of the new but worked for 1 day computer for a week by sending it for repair - jolly good of them. Won’t have one to use, but it checks their good customer service boxes (internally). #reallydell?


#dell can’t help me because the 5 hours I spent on the phone and chat were recorded by the technician as “customer didn’t have time to diagnose” didn’t realize I worked for #dell #reallydell?


#dell I didn’t realize that I’m the hands on technician, and that #dell expects me to set aside an infinite amount of time to push buttons to resolve a defect. #reallydell?


So a brand new #dell laptop lasts 1 day before issues cropped up. Many hours on the phone & chat to discover it wasn’t QC’d prior to shipping and arrived needing a couple hours of software updates. Now they are resisting replacing it without LOTS of hoops. #reallydell?
