It will unilaterally kill many extensions people use today. Rather than an open API based on a W3C standard, you now have to use a Google maintained one to negotiate the design of the software. Interoperability and inspectability replaced with centralisation and obfuscation. 6/7
Kindle Publishing Guidelines state that sRGB is not supported and (presumably) linear RGB should be used. But AFAIK JPEG does not support linear RBG, you can transform the pixel data but the metadata still says sRGB. /1
