Last thing I’ll say on this… without the golf course there is no club or facility.
When are clubs and golf facilities at all levels going to realize superintendents should be compensated the same (if not more) than general managers? Did what occur in 2020 slip memories?
Assistants are the least compensated. For what they take on and have to deal with, underpaying assistants/supers is killing the industry.
And their Assistants. It changes right here, right now. I worked for a super in Iowa who made 80k for Troon. While I didn’t agree with his management style, he was beyond talented agronomically. The man was worth 100k easy. Pay them what they are worth. It’s gone on too long.
They won’t realize it. That’s the problem

A year ago today our community was rocked by winds up to 140 MPH. In this time of crisis, our members, team & community came together to help restore what was lost. We will never forget the damage done, but we will also never forget the open arms & helping hands of our community.

August 10th a Derecho came through Elmcrest and wiped out 400+ trees. A little over a month later of clean-up and our member-guest “Tin Cup”is still on! Extremely proud of the team for working their butts off. Thank you to the whole Elmcrest team, volunteers, TreeJob, and Rathje!
