YAY WILEY HUNNICUTT! Wiley Hunnicutt, an English teacher at Douglas Freeman High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school. (No. 25 in a series. See previous "Yay of the Day" honorees at henricoschools.us/yay-of-the-day/)
Today we were working on a review IXL in Algebra 1 on evaluating expressions. The student didn’t have a calculator… so she calculated 60x14 using the box method. How cool! I was excited to tell her we are going to be using it this year too! (She later changed the 600-240 to +)

My Algebra 2 students today split up into groups and screen shared some equations of roller coasters. It was fun to do a continuing “alike and different” as we presented new equations. They even got a ride on a roller coaster out of the deal!
