Apparently Assata Shakur's family informed their friends and associates that she died but they did not want the news shared on social media. Unfortunately they didn't get their wish.
There is no confirmation from any news source that Assata Shakur passed away. Andy Shallal of Busboys and Poets posted on Instagram that she passed. But neither family nor corporate media, who don’t report deaths unless confirmed, have said that she died.
