Getting CPR recertification this morning.


We had our first positive flu test in the office today. Have heard reports of other local clinics having positive tests as well this week.


....May have to start treating more based on clinical symptoms or a scoring system rather than if the rapid flu is negative.


Translation: you can use a rapid flu-test to rule-in flu, but there's a 46% chance in adults and 33% chance in kids a neg is a false neg.


Annals of Internal Medicine review cites low sensitivity of rapid flu testing - 54% in adults & 67% in children. However, it's 98% specific.
