To outsiders early in Christian history, the kerygma seemed odd. As almost everyone accepted it for centuries, it lost some of that oddness. But today, in our post-Christian world, it's odd to outsiders again. It may seem odd to them, but it is the message that saves. 2/
Today, we had a morning retreat on the kerygma. So often we can focus on catechesis or moral exhortation forgetting that the basis of all of this is proclaiming the kerygma (the incarnation, passion, death & resurrection of Jesus) & helping people have a relationship w/ him. 1/
