With today’s release of #iOS15, which ships with #WebGL2 enabled by default, iPhone and iPad users can now play ESCAPE! It works great in Safari and if you bookmark it on your Home Screen, it launches fullscreen like a native app. What a win for the web! #js13k

Creating a game in 13 KB means making some hard choices. The night before the deadline we removed gamepad support from ESCAPE to save ~200 bytes. I’ve just brought it back in the post-jam version which you can play at piesku.com/escape/play. #js13k

I was worried at first that turning the fox around in a smooth motion would be hard to implement. The solution: the player actually controls an invisible entity that rotates instantly, and the fox mesh follows it with a small lag. #js13k
