On the last day of #ICRS2022 I was able to present our work on spectral habitat mapping in Curacaoan Reefs. So excited 🤗 @4D_REEF @MarineMicrobio @microsensors

Finally in the warm water! So excited of operating the HyperDiver in its natural habitat - in reefs of Spermonde, Indonesia. Using spectral AI, @DanielSchurholz aims at creating habitat maps across depth and turbidity gradients in 6 islands. #fieldwork Stay tuned!

Microsensors, #DirkDeBeer @maritvanerk @Elisa_Merz ready to look at some amazing science at the poster session #ISME18

Hey #ISME18 peeps! Drop by my poster at PS01.118 and let’s talk about niche-ception within Artic surface sediments and pore water! 🦠❄️🌊

Always wanted to know more about #Beggiatoaceae and #diatoms in intertidal sediments? Then check out @Elisa_Merz talk: Interaction between large sulphur oxidising bacteria and diatoms in illuminated sulfidic sediments at #ISME18 in session AS01.1 at 3 p.m. 🔬
Dr. #JudithKlatt is branching out and starting her own group in Marburg, check out @MicrocosmEarth to follow updates on her research on ancient photosynthesis. Best of luck! ✨
Oceanographers sometimes get lucky and get to work beyond the ocean, like fascinating projects on subsurface life at the Frasassi Caves with a fantastic team @NMT @geomicrobe @WHOI @jmacalad
The gangs (almost) all here! @BeggiaZoa @ericavbarlow @jmacalad @Elisa_Merz @not_rollergirl @geomicrobe @NMT_EES @NMTBiology just missing @shavonnerants and @heidi_aronson

The accumulation and storage of nitrate by diatoms can contribute up to 1% of total pelagic nitrate and as much as 95% of total benthic nitrate @PedroEstivo @NATsdu @Biology_SDU @nordcee @Hadal_Center @MarineMicrobio @microsensors @CEMAarhus @tara_anja nature.com/articles/s4324…

I had a very nice time last Wednesday showing our institute @MarineMicrobio and experiments in the @microsensors group to 6 very enthusiastic Coral Scientists, as a part of the #ICRS2022 Science Tours. Thanks for coming to visit us!

Very happy to be showing the HyperDiver and our benthic mapping work at the #ICRS2022! @4D_REEF @MarineMicrobio @microsensors

Congratulations to @Elisa_Merz on successfully defending her PhD thesis on ‘The Dark Side of Diatoms’. We’re so proud of you!

Field-usable, fine-scale mapping of arsenic species in 2D? We did that. Join my talk tomorrow to find out more, at 14:30 in session SSS7.3 #EGU22
