Older generations say “we all struggled in our 20s.” No, you didn’t. You didn’t pay $2,200 for rent and $7 for eggs. You didn’t graduate into $50K student debt and $0 job security. Gen Z isn’t dramatic. They’re drowning.
A country works when work works. Right now work buys less life. Fix that or nothing else matters.
If the economy is “great” then why does survival require subscriptions loans and side hustles just to stand still?
Crisis at the store. Crisis at the pump. Crisis at the doctor. Then they tell you to “learn to budget.” People are budgeting despair.
“Just move abroad.” Visa. Income. Safety. Cost. Not a weekend project. People want a livable home not a new flag. America used to offer that. We must demand that it does again.
Just a reminder that corporations got $5 trillion in pandemic relief. What did you get? $1,200 and a lecture about personal responsibility. They bailed out Wall Street. They left Main Street to rot.
Seniors need to sell to live. Young families can’t buy to start. Two generations, one locked door. We need keys, not lectures.
We’re pricing people out of housing, healthcare, childcare, retirement. Call it what it is: priced out of life. You can’t build a future on late fees.
Wasn't the last election about the economy? Prices didn’t come back down. Housing still brutal. Gas still high. Groceries up. Utilities up. Insurance up. Wages flat.
Why won't our leaders address what the average American has to do just to survive? Extra shifts. Uber at night. Selling stuff. Borrowing from family. Skipping meals and healthcare. All to meet the basics.
44% of owners and renters are struggling to pay. If wages beat inflation like they say then why can’t people keep a roof over their head without sacrificing everything else?
“Just work harder.” People are. 50-60 hours and still live in a car. The grind is fine; the gradient is not. Hard work shouldn’t require hazard pay for living.
