The number of posts trying to inflame the situation re Charlie Kirk is so sad and endemic of where we are now. Name calling and worse on all sides. The death is tragic. And we need rationality and calm not more stoking. Shame on them all.

Was discussing this earlier and couldn’t agree more. One of the biggest contributing factors to any country’s decline is the standard of journalism. No longer do we have thoughtful news but sensationalism, ghoulish photos, half truths. Maybe that’s what people want. But it’s sad.
Who is it for? Who wants to see a photo of his wife leaving a morgue? Why? Journalists taking photos of anyone ‘famous’ is always odd, but yeah, some stupid people want to see Justin Bieber having his dinner so there’s a twisted validity to that. WHO is THIS for? Nobody. Rats.
Tbh I don’t think many people are that worked up (other than the Twitter folk). Things are materially less volatile. For most, things aren’t worse. Think we forget how crazy things were and how bad. There’s a lot of desperation from the usuals, so suggests it’s not bad
Now I don’t know this is true any more than Tice’s claims obvs. But it is detailed and evidenced and researched. So suggests it may have just a teensy bit more credibility!

Proof if more were needed that Twitter wants to be the least trusted, biggest disinformation platform ever. (We can argue the harshness of sentence, but just posting on social media wasn’t the issue.) Typical populist, professing what’s bad then doing that same bad.
Over 7 years prison for social media posts … Whoever gave that sentence deserves prison themselves. Thank God that America has freedom of speech in the Constitution!
I had the intention of coming to say this too today. Renewed the kids passports - they’ve changed a bit obvs in 5 years - but all done so quickly, inc an id verification. Text messages with updates & delivery details. 1 of them done in a week from submit to receipt.
