More tailwind and daisy ui fun today. Only frustrating part was tailwind was turning my buttons transparent and I'm not quite sure why it would think I wanted it to do that.
I started using tailwind and daisy ui to build out the landing and signup pages for the app today. I really enjoy both of these tools. I barely wrote any CSS at all and I'm really happy with how it looks.
I think I realized today, that styling is the part of web dev that feels the least like work. I feel like a kid with the world's least intuitive set of crayons scribbling whatever the heck I want on the page.
Didn't write very much code for the app today but spent a while looking at Google's address validation API docs. Also started adding some daisy ui components.
Taking some old tutorial and trying to make it work on newer versions is such a good learning experience. The code tends to be roughly right but will break a lot. Fixing where it breaks helps me learn a ton and often requires understanding exactly what the code is doing.
Added views to my app and got it connected to the DB. Got the auth working and now users can make accounts. Happy with today's progress.
Got the basic structure of the controllers and routers together today. Hope to do something a bit more substantial tomorrow.
Today I got the repo for my new app set up and started building out the node server. I've tried building apps using some templates I have, but I end up getting lost. Maybe I'll be able to turn what I have here into a template that works better for me in the future.
Alright, I'm trying a new thing. I'm going to build/learn in public. I'm going to to build a full stack app that let's people track prices of goods they regularly buy using Node and Express. Today I decided on the name and logo. Tomorrow I build.
