The Premier League is becoming the UK’s key cultural export. So why are its teams being sponsored by gambling firms that are not licensed to operate in the country?
New. Money-laundering, scamming, cyber slavery compounds and appalling human rights abuses are no obstacles for Premier League clubs looking for betting partners – or the UK regulator. By Philippe Auclair josimarfootball.com/2025/07/29/plu…
Incredible longevity from Cilic: he’s beaten Jack Draper, Andy Murray and Tim Henman in his career. Surely no-one else can match that.
#WeRemember the six people who lost their lives at the Lakanal House fire, 16 years ago today. Today, 3,400 residential buildings over 11m in England alone still haven't completed unsafe cladding remediation. Removal of unsafe cladding across the UK must be prioritised.
Read this. It's remarkable. The UN is begging - literally begging - Israel to allow it to deliver to Gaza 160,000 pallets of food aid it has ready to go. Israel will not allow that. There is only one inescapable conclusion: Israel is deliberately starving Gaza to death.
Enough. We demand rapid, safe, and unimpeded access to starving civilians in Gaza. We have a plan. We have thousands of trucks of food at the border. Let us in. Let us work. bit.ly/3S7M0oo

Also a Test match over in less than 180 overs, or two full days of play.
Jomel Warrican’s 10 wicket haul. Jayden Seales bowling. Alick Athanaze half century. Tevin Imlach’s excellent wicket keeping.

Soccer’s global governing body is pushing to expand an already “crazy” schedule. Resentment and frustration is simmering across the globe—and the pot may boil over, @mikegjakeman writes.
American owners have been a familiar sight in the English Premier League for years. But recent U.S. success with smaller clubs, such as Wrexham, has caught investors’ imaginations. More from @mikegjakeman ⬇️
This is exactly it. City looked intimidated in the first 25 minutes, which I wasn’t expecting.
I know this is very hack analysis but Man City turned in such a small club performance yesterday. It wasn't just that they got dominated, they never looked like they believed they were supposed to win the game. They approached the game like a mid-table team would.
Watching Elon Musk assemble a team of billionaires to figure out which public services to cut 🤢
This is exactly the wrong view. Salah is a wonderful player who has been very well rewarded throughout his career. You don’t give him a huge new deal based on what has done in the past.
If there’s one player who deserves to have whatever numbers on his contract, based on carrying this club consistently for 8 seasons through the glory and hard times, it’s Mohamed Salah. @LFC, sort it out or face the consequences.
Also that's India vs Bangladesh on the extreme right. Two anomalies in the history of Test cricket, just 10 days apart.
