As an Italian I know that we have always been a people of migrants. We crossed the oceans in search for a better life. Now it's our turn to welcome people. I'm also reminded that I myself am a migrant, a person who chose to live and work abroad in search for something better.
Boats full of "migrants" are boats full of people. "Migrant children" are children. @nytimes this is about you too, front page today: "migrant smuggling" = human smuggling. Words make worlds, as the rabbis say. An everyday civilizational, spiritual discipline we can all practice.

#Burnout is often misunderstood, confused with exhaustion and seen as something that can be solved by "going in holiday". An extract from my book to help you understand why burnout has more to do with "how" we work, not just "how much" alessandrapigni.com/reflections/bu…
Indeed it is also cruel to tell people they can find happiness no matter how much suffering they are facing. Posttraumatic growth is more about meaning than happiness, and it doesn't deny the suffering.
It’s arrogant and dishonest to tell people that they can transform their reality and find joy no matter how dreadful their circumstances. Such a falsehood only breeds silence and shame about real suffering. bit.ly/2t8enaM
