there were literal decades where transportation for kids with disabilities was horrific the same is true for physical restraint and seclusion the reason I get social control is because it lets bad actors keep their self image and public persona in tact
if random mom making observations is able to outdo your work improving conditions for students with disabilities in cps, it means the environment is not strong i am good at what i do and it's based on a discipline of showing up but i shouldn't be the one making winning shots
joshua long is not managing the office for students with disabilities at chicago public schools, he is mismanaging it to destabilize it OSD is hollowed out, seemingly the point, kids are not getting the transportation services they are owed and kids are still warehoused
there are some people who watch my socials so they can do social control on those around me and i do not respect it, in the least you can do class politics elsewhere
you've gotten things that were in the law wrong before — during the mayoral election you told me it was a superintendent and not a CEO and Kam's bill introduction was nonsense but now you want a CEO
🙋🏾♀️ I helped pass the law. I participated in the negotiations. We were only able to get the law passed IF we agreed to having the mayor (then MLL) retain control of CEO selection. Those were the terms in the Senate. This is one of the V last bills passed during that session.
haven't they both essentially removed themselves from consideration at this point
Johnson said of the two floated — Denver Public Schools Supt Alex Marrero & ex-NYC schools chief Meisha Ross Porter: “There are others that will continue to apply .. but in no way do I have a strong opinion about any of the individuals that are making their way through a process”
Here’s CTU prez Stacy Davis Gates’ letter to BOE prez Sean Harden. Johnson said “that's her responsibility, to advocate on behalf of her members. I'm going to advocate on behalf of the people of Chicago to ensure that we have leadership that reflects the values of working people”
