I've not posted here for quite a while and I'm about to properly go dark here. You can find me other places, most notably hachyderm.io/@andrewharvey

It’s amazing what happens when you let your AI train on the firehose, especially when there are reams written about unhinged conspiracy theories.

Looks like this artificial intelligence isn’t buying the official version of the JFK assassination

It’s working everyone! Together we can make this billionaire a millionaire!

Elon Musk's wealth wipeout hit a new milestone this week. He became the first person ever to lose $200 billion trib.al/g7Qfkf0

Happy Hot Cross bun day to all those who celebrate.

If you’re doing annual family tech support, remember that a little notebook of passwords is better security than shared passwords. Not everyone is ready for a password manager. Give the gift of undogmatic security practice.

Far from seeing spam levels drop, I’ve seen a considerable increase in spam group DMs and followers lately. @elonmusk I thought you were good at this.

It feels weird being the only person on the train wearing a mask. It still feels like such a small imposition to significantly reduce transmission.

Sydney friends: I’ve blown in from the country until Wednesday for #yowconf. Let me know if you want to catch up.

How many bots voted, ⁦@elonmusk⁩? We expect you to release full details of every account to verify the validity of your poll. I thought bits were a problem. Or maybe just don’t pretend that a poll from your account is some kind of valid measure of “the will of the people”.

I don’t really want Twitter to fail under his leadership. Mostly because he’s not leading in any real sense of the word. I don’t want to see bad behaviour rewarded. And from the ashes of Twitter, maybe something better will rise.

This post is unavailable.

The biggest problem with the current blue check mark debacle is I can’t tell who is genuinely verified, who is doing funnies, and who has been fleeced of $8 by an edgelord. At least the hexagonal profile pics are a clear and unambiguous signal.

Has anyone else noticed a significant reduction in brand promotes tweets and seen more individuals trying to promote lately?

This is the first time I’ve seen a paper in the BMJ co-authored by a sitting member of parliament.

Oxford's Philip Clarke and I have a paper out in BMJ Global Health. Our aim is to assess the claims made by critics of lockdowns, who claimed lockdowns would cost lives gh.bmj.com/content/7/11/e… A thread. [1/4]

The question is: will @elonmusk have a parody tag attached to his account because this is clearly all a joke.

We’re adding a “Parody” subscript to clarify

People are starting to say Elon Musk isn't actually a real engineer. But he definitely said "I don't know why people think Twitter is so complicated. I could fix it in like a weekend." And then proceeded to fuck everything up. That's exactly like an engineer.

Maybe we should just use less plastics because recycling them is not economic… This was always just a Band-Aid. smh.com.au/national/coles…
