Due to a teachers' strike, all schools will be closed Nov. 1. Tomorrow at 7 pm we will confirm whether schools will reopen or remain closed for Thursday. Beyond that, you can expect a text and email from us each evening by 7 pm letting you know if school will open the next day.
My school started a new policy this year. Students hand in cell phones during advisory. Got a lot of buying from parents. It has completely changed the school day. I thought it would help eliminate distractions. But it's done so much more. The school community is just better.
As a teacher, I’m SICK of student cell phones being used in classrooms, hallways & bathrooms. I also don’t want the added responsibilities of having a ‘phone caddy’ in my classroom or confiscating phones when they are seen/heard.
