Jodi and I have enjoyed getting to know @JaredcWellman in the past several years and we have prayed consistenly for him as he has provided leadership in the convention. I am hopeful for the future of the SBC as I’ve gotten to know young pastors like him.

Jodi and I are praying for Dr. Barber and FBC Farmersville’s ministry among the Bayot people of Senegal.
I'm leaving today for Senegal. I make no promises about what/when/where I will be posting. This month marks a decade that @fbcfarmersville has been at work alongside @IMB_SBC in the Casamance region among the Bayot people.
Praise God that NO Southern Baptist seminary graduate is indebted because of their ministry training at Southern Baptist seminaries. And we can all thank the @SBCCP . Without the Cooperative Program, it is impossible to estimate the burden of debt our graduates would carry.

Thank you for keeping Jodi before the Lord this week. Today, the doctors released her to come home. Her breathing has improved remarkably, and we anticipate a full recovery in the coming weeks. Knowing of your steadfast intercession has strengthened our faith! 1 Thess. 5:16-18
I want to update everyone praying for us while Jodi is recovering. There’s been a marked improvement in her pulmonary function, and the doctors are encouraged. We are still looking at a few more days and tests in the hospital. The Great Physician is our comfort! Isaiah 42:5
Over the coming months I will pray intentionally and specifically that God will direct the path of our new Executive Committee presidential search team until they find the next leader for this critically important Kingdom assigment. Proverbs 3:5-6
Today I have taken my bride of 58 years to receive medical treatment for complications arising from a chronic pulmonary irritation. Jodi is the strongest woman I know and she’s doing great. Our doctors are very hopeful about this precautionary step. Prayers appreciated.
We may have calm confidence that the Spirit of the Living God is himself praying for Southern Baptists this week. His ministry of perpetual intercession is ever before the Father on our behalf according to the perfect will of God. Romans 8:26-27
May I encourage you this Lord’s Day to pray for the men who will preach the cross of Christ this morning in churches across the Southern Baptist Convention? Our lost world needs Jesus. Our people need a new passion for proclaiming him in this generation. Romans 10:14
Praise the Lord for the faithful giving of 47k churches. CP giving unites Southern Baptists in our biblical mission to the ends of the earth. The CP may be approaching 100 years old, but she’s still working as hard as ever for the Kingdom and the advance of the Gospel.

God was gracious and kind to me when he gave me Jodi as my wife and partner in ministry. Ours has never been a perfect marriage but it keeps getting better as we grow old together in grace. This video from the 2000 convention captures but one of many reasons I am thankful.
Dr. Adrian Rogers used to say that it’s better to ultimately succeed with the truth than to temporarily succeed with a lie. My friend @AdamGreenway is committed to the truth. No lie can ever overcome the truth. Jodi and I stand with him and @SWBTS. Isaiah 54:17
It is with deep disappointment but strong conviction that I have sent the following letter to Dr. Michael Spradlin prayerfully requesting him to reconsider the decision of MABTS to host the premier of a film whose trailer contains scandalous and scurrilous slander against @SWBTS.
Great word! Gambrell was WAY before our time, but Jodi and I often reminisce about our ministry training under the “dome.” NT with Dr. Drumwright. Philosophy with Dr. Newport. Dr. Vaughn for Greek. Dr. Pinson for ethics. Dr. Guy for missions, etc. We are proud Southwesterners!
