Students used a co-constructed checklist to practice writing sentences and to check each other’s work!

Today, students practiced using a fluency checklist to create fluency goals for themselves! These two students decided that they want to work on changing their voice to match the punctuation.
Our ELAR classrooms were rocking balanced literacy & student ownership today! We saw mini lessons, phonics, independent reading, learning progressions, annotated success criteria and self-assessment! Way to go Ms. Mills, Ms. Maston, Ms. Taft & Ms. Windlow! @FBISDLiteracy

2nd graders learned about annotating responses today. I went to Ms. Taft’s class to see all smiles! We will finish tomorrow. Readers sharing text evidence to support their thinking. @mstaftsclass
Earlier this week, we learned one of the sounds that the heart letters “ou” makes. Today, this sweet student of mine was so excited when she was able to sound out the word “found” using the skills we learned in phonics!
