If Jeff Bezos can afford a $500 million yacht, a $23 million mansion with 25 bathrooms and a rocket ship to blast a comedian to outer space, you know what? Amazon can afford to give its employees a $3 raise. I stand in strong solidarity with the Amazon workers walkout.
If Rob Walton, a key owner of Walmart, can afford an estimated $226 million for an antique car collection that includes 12 Ferraris, 6 Porsches, 2 Maseratis and a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Roadster, you know what? Walmart can afford to pay at least $15/hour to all of its workers.

Last year, we proved Donald Trump guilty of abusing the power of his office. But Republican Senators refused to convict, claiming on principle, voters should decide. Now, those same Senators wish to overturn the election results. They have no principle, only fear and ambition.
It is a sad and tragic day for our country that 140 members of the House of Representatives, 13 senators and a defeated president are attempting to undermine American democracy and our Constitution. They will not succeed.
We won't have a moral or sustainable economy when so few have so much and so many have so little. It's unacceptable that the 50 richest people in the U.S. own more wealth than the bottom half—160 million. In the richest country on Earth let's create an economy that works for all.
One major promise that Trump *did* keep was to run the country like he ran his business. Unfortunately for us that means incompetently, fraudulently, and rife with bigotry + corruption 💸
NYT is out with Part Two: Months after 'The Apprentice' premiered in 2004, Trump filed his individual tax return reporting $89.9 million in net losses. The red ink spilled from everywhere, even as TV viewers saw him as a savvy business mogul. nyti.ms/36gQKRU

Tax Records Reveal How Fame Gave Trump a $427 Million Lifeline (Published 2020)
“The Apprentice” rescued Donald J. Trump, bringing him new sources of cash and a myth that would propel him to the White House.
In 2016 & ‘17, I paid thousands of dollars a year in taxes *as a bartender.* Trump paid $750. He contributed less to funding our communities than waitresses & undocumented immigrants. Donald Trump has never cared for our country more than he cares for himself. A walking scam.
Exclusive: The Times has obtained tax-return data for President Trump extending over more than two decades. It shows his finances under stress, beset by losses that he aggressively employs to avoid paying taxes and hundreds of millions in debt coming due. nyti.ms/308oHAj

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was one of the great justices in modern American history and her passing is a tremendous loss to our country. She will be remembered as an extraordinary champion of justice and equal rights.
Nope! No Goya in my household either.

As I was paying my respects to our forever Chairman, his staff told me that in his final hours he signed subpoenas to USCIS and ICE, pursuing justice for immigrants in my district & across the country with chronic medical conditions. A man of his word every moment of his life.
I love how McConnell is saying “since you’re impeaching, NOW we’re not going to pass bills.” What does he mean, now? Mitch McConnell hasn’t done a damn thing all year. He literally brags that his office is a graveyard. We passed gun safety in Feb & he STILL hasn’t held a vote.
At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior - it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it.
As the President showed off his white nationalism for the world to see, #TeamOcasio dispatched Know Your Rights teams to show our neighbors how to protect their civil liberties w/ ICE & others. Local businesses asked for stacks of flyers, too. Thank you to all who came out 💜🇺🇸
Had the great opportunity to have a visit from Congressman Mike Simpson (R-ID 2nd District) who fully supports TRIO Programs. In fact he came into the room and the first thing he said was “TRIO works.” #TRIOworks #MikeSimpson
