Within the hour, Ireland will be rid of all its Green MEPs. In an election that has often disappointed me, I'll gladly take that as a win for the common people of Ireland, for common sense and for the country as a whole. Next step; getting them out of the Dail. #alotgonemoretogo

“I didn’t say that wouldn’t happen again”: The number of migrant tents on the bank of Dublin’s Grand Canal has risen again to 76 - and Taoiseach Simon Harris says he never denied that the illegal shantytown could re-appear after it was cleared. gript.ie/number-of-migr…

The irony of TCDSU whining about free speech is quite amusing.

@tcddublin fining students 0.2 million euros for protesting against their decision to raise masters' and EU fees, as well as continue supporting its ties to Israel really sets a dangerous precedent for free speech

It's almost like... people want to have a place to put their car in the house they buy.

Some good stuff in this estate such as filtered permeability within the estate and into at least some older estates beside it -- great to see. But having a road where there should be a street, the continuous driveways and all the extra unneeded concrete needed for that. 🤮

These types are hysterical. It's probably good that they're so vocal as it shows people how ridiculous they are. I'd honestly take them more seriously if they stood by the GPO wearing a breadboard that reads "The end is nigh". At least then their actions would match their words.

Something seriously messed up about Ireland’s no.1 carbon polluter being able to sell flights for €20 in a #ClimateEmergency. It’s almost as if we’re actually trying to wipe ourselves out.

Grasping at straws for a bit of fake outrage here.

Canvassing last week, I met a woman who didn't know how to vote. No one had ever taught her. In school, they had taught her how to say prayers, but never how to vote. We need root and branch change in our educational system. #SeparateChurchAndState

Bernie knows that schools facilitate students opting out of RE. She also knows that schools don't have the resources to babysit every child who wants to opt out.

The hoops I had to jump through to opt my daughter out of religion in secondary school were ridiculous. Every week, I had to drive to Sligo and attend the school to sign her out. Every single week, or else they tried to entice or force her back into the class. #RTEUpfront

#Referendum2024 is failing badly. It's a real win for @AontuIE and @Toibin1 who were the only party to be on the right side of this. #VoteNoNo #VoteYesYes

After today's results, how can the state say that the @NWCI reflects the views of Irish women, and keep funding it to do so? On these referendums, which they claimed were vital for women, women have made clear they disagree.

For those who are wondering, I was going to ask about Catherine Martin contradicting the Electoral Commission on the referendum yesterday - a matter which is clearly in the public interest, as it has accrued half a million views so far. x.com/griptmedia/sta…

Media Minister Catherine Martin is asked if she will delete a tweet in which she falsely claimed that the Constitution says "a woman's place is in the home" - a claim which was explicitly contradicted by her government's own Electoral Commission. Question by @Ben_Scallan.

Whatever you might think of Gript, they do tend to ask tough questions that other journalists aren't prepared to ask of our politicians. In this case it's quite clear that the government, particularly GP ministers have been caught out. Their tactic now seems to be "avoid".

IGNORED: Taoiseach Leo Varadkar walks out of a press briefing as @Ben_Scallan is mid-sentence asking about government ministers spreading referendum misinformation.

In most countries when a government minister tells barefaced lies in an effort to influence a referendum result they would apologise or even resign. In Ireland they just dig in knowing that neither the opposition nor most of the media will hold them to account. #VoteNoNo

The government appointed a Supreme Court Judge to regulate misinformation. That Judge said Catherine Martin's interpretation of the Constitution in the context of the referendum was "simply wrong." Martin contradicts the Judge and insists her interpretation is "quite clear."

Quite clear that what's happening has nothing to do with immigration or the incident this evening. Just gurriers taking advantage.
