In my latest Substack post I'm discussing about CDC which is crucial for company as it concern scaling data. The topic talks about CDC in-depth and how replication is achieved in database such as Postgres that makes replication possible. nanik.substack.com/p/change-data-… #golang #cdc

I asked ChatGPT to write for me a love letter to my father who have passed away 7 years ago. Frankly, it's a very good letter and bring tears to my eye 😢😢

Designing system is fun yet complex, and as business scales so should the system. Remember the following when you are thinking of scalability, reliability and availability. "... whenever state is replicated for scalability and availability, we have to deal with consistency"

Have loyalty to yourself to improve and push yourself. Don't have loyalty to a job or organisation.

Working in technology is about building stuff and getting your hand dirty coding, fixing and investigating. If you are not doing any of those then your time working in tech sector will be limited.

Losing a job is no joke, but if you come off from a big tech names the chances of finding a job (albeit will lesser perks) is very high compared to people who come off from a non-high tech names.

A lot of people talk about ex-Googlers, ex-Microsoft, ex-Salesforce, and other high tech layoffs. What we should help more are people who are laid-off from a non-big tech firms as they are now competing with the people from big tech names.
