My first full weekend post teaching complete. I can’t stop eating and peeing. Probably because my body needs nutrition and I can finally pee when I want. I don’t have to wait till lunch or after school in huge line.
I keep watching videos of what people can fit into bags that they carry, because I want to buy a new bag. And, thinking: Dudes don’t carry the world — a pharmacy — with them. I just want to fit my wallet, sunglasses, reading glasses, a book and journal. Not 5 kinds of wipes

I had to tell one student who was annoyed at me that I care and want them to pass. That’s why I was on them. Then, the student relaxed and got to work.
Fun week of almost bullying kids into passing my class. Like I literally have to tell them which assignments to do during finals block so I don't have to fail them. If I didn't, they'd just take the L. How did we get here?
My students wrote kick-ass micro memoirs. So impressed. Some claimed that they didn’t know what to do. One wrote a beautiful, painful braided essay that wowed me to tears. So grateful to see such young talent. Wish I could have them as students for one more year

I didn’t wear a mask all day for the first time snd a student sneezed.
Was informed that despite having a couple of teachers out with COVID, we can’t really ask our students to mask up in class because the school is almost out of masks AND NOT PLANNING TO BUY MORE.
