time for a morse code answering vibrating AI RGB buttplug
Interview Coder was a psyop from airlines to increase ticket revenues 🤣
same thing is happening in colleges man hand written tests for law students is kinda normal now
Absolutely massive W for us good-looking, charismatic folks. Sorry to all the SWEs who can’t shake someone’s hand and make eye contact effectively
Business Idea: Remember the anal beads cheating scandal in chess, well....
there still has to be a bottleneck that “gets rid of” candidates. I wonder what that will look like. Maybe this means less people will get interviews overall, since flight costs is an expense that must be minimized. Or, maybe only the very last interview round will be in person.
Can't wait to use my meta glasses to show how much of a problem solver I am
That’s good for me. I don’t sell my height 6’3 and charisma through zoom like in person.
let’s see if Meta will also lay off fewer people than they hire with this approach or have to lay off even more due to the expenses incurred by in-person interviews
How are companies planning to hire globally if they require 5 days onsite? 🫠 Feel kinda bad for all the folks trying to move abroad through job relocation it’s getting harder out here.
No one wants to grind leetcode just to get laid off 6 months later
Awesome. Just another reason to *actually* prepare for your interviews.
they won't. Interviews nowadays appear to be more ego driven than practical. Interviewers will ask LC hard questions and be standoffish and unpleasant to young graduates simply because they can.
Should have restarted as soon as we stopped caring about Covid.
Well I guess LEETCODE lives on then It took a blow but stood up I remember a line from Avengers when thanos said "You could not live with your own failures, where did that Bring you ? Back to Me"
Good, remote interviews with leetcode is weak and gay. Let's see you in person, are you a loser who treats your body like trash and has no social skill, or are you someone we can work with.
That's good... at least we get to meet other people in the process and get to know more about the company and culture and whether we actually want to work there
Being honest here. While leetcode cheating has obviously gone up. So have standards. Ridiculously so. With a return to in-perwon interviews it's likely that the standards will drop as well.
as it should've been. much better way to gauge someone's interpersonal skills in person too.
Mail people laptops or give them bootable ISO to take tests. Kernel level access and total control of the device.
Hopefully this means that we go back to easy/mediums in person. I remember back in the day when the onsite was more of a vibe check than it was “answer this lc hard in 25 mins or else…”
Maybe they should go the Shopify way and just embrace AI... at this point there's no way around it 🤷♂️
Delaying the inevitable. AI is a tool everyone is going to be using even at these companies. Especially considering companies like Meta or Google have some decent LLMs that can be run entirely in house.
