You know how bad CSS is when even claude can't fix the most basic errors. Just tried converting 40 lines of code from Flexbox to CSS grid and it wasn't even close.
I don’t think that’s a css problem - it’s more a visual reasoning problem given primitives other coding tasks require less abstract cohesion
it's not about the flexbox, pattern matching token predictors just don't work for dynamical systems that well
My prediction is we’ll see new languages and frameworks introduced claiming high benchmark scores across models already.
Using these models for css is like talking to the smartest person in the world but they were also born completely blind.
CSS has a way of humbling even the most advanced AIs – its quirks are legendary!
I thought Claude sonnet was doing a pretty good job with tailwind until I actually looked and realized it that about 80% of the classes did nothing and weren't needed
Claude just had the accumulated skill issue of all the generations CSS is awesome and is getting more awesome by the day It has only one issue which is you never know how to write it cleanly
Yeah, Grid and Flexbox never play nice when you try to swap them out like that.
AI is not that good at debugging or updating CSS (at least yet), It can surprise you with producing something beautiful just because it saw something similar in the training data.
Because CSS is a very visual and interactive thing. Claude can't see your screen, let alone click and scroll around.
Tell me about it. I have been trying to get a column based sections. 4 prompts later it’s still messing up. I am wasting my tokens here
When you guys started dev ? And why r y using ai go solve your daily problems with your brain
If “even human” was mentioned instead of “even claude” I would’ve been shocked. Claude is a f****** machine.
Man if Claude can't do it I could never lmao, CSS is indeed garbage.
