I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but GPT 5 really doesn't seem like a paradigm shift at all. Yes there's progress being made, but it feels to me it's becoming marginal. But surely, in 6 - 12 months, everything will be vastly different right? Or is that just…
As far as I can see, at least on my timeline, no is claiming it’s a paradigm shift. Personally, it’s a decent bit better than sonnet 4 on coding tasks, specifically monorepo full stack work (purely just vibes based from using it today).
For me, it's been a lot slower and worse results than Sonnet 4. Exact same prompts.
I’d reccomend going into models and then enabling gpt-5-high-fast. Should be the smartest and fastest on max mode. Expensive as fuck but it’s free for launch week. Idk how you use it, but also spend 15-20 mins just chatting on the plan of implementation before doing any work
