At first I thought Nvidia, Anthropic, OpenAI CEOs were saying coding will die in 6 - 12 months because they actually believed their hype.. but now it seems like they are just wildly unethical, or imho just pieces of shit who would take their own country down to make themselves…

“They are tying everyone into their web so nobody can afford for OpenAI to not succeed. They are trying to make themselves a systemic risk” @benthompson The most succinct/accurate description. And both executives messed up this week and said this quiet part out loud

They’re glorified salespeople bro, never trust anything they say

TBF a positive is that it outed a lot of terrible companies that believed the hype - clearly they have no vision and should be avoided from a worker perspective And we got to see how retarded the average twitter tech influencer is 🤷‍♂️

"billionares are pieces of shit" "the ice is cold"

I am just waiting for this AI bubble to crash.

“take their own country down to make themselves more money” Idk why ur even suprised.

honestly I knew most of them were grifters but the one I really lost respect for was Jensen Huang. used to think he was above all this nonsense but he’s the same as the rest of them

The sad truth is, they're gonna get bailed out by taxpayer money

Just an example , this article clearly shows the VCs and VPs of big tech who collaborated and invested in AI startups clearly had no idea what they were dealing with. businessinsider.com/tusimple-nvidi…

Yes. About 4 months back I sensed when NVIDIA said - programming is dead. youtu.be/gBElXlmjsgQ?si…

There is a fine line between excitement, to get people motivated to advance science; and then there’s pitting it as an arms race, for the existential survival among nations. When they start pitching the second one (the arms race), that’s how you know it’s BS.

Something funny recently they released a new feature but iOS only, like why can't their super Ai develop cross platform

They didn't learn from the failure of the Semantic Web. Except for confusing identifiers with locators and flat subject identity, it wasn't a bad idea. But we all had to participate at our own expense, with no return until someday by and by. Sound familiar?

At this point it’s not even about belief or vision, it’s just market positioning

Jensen doesnt seem bad to me. I believe he really does it for the sake of science and engineering

Bro I literally saw an OpenAI MTS giggle and decline the question when asked about how useful codex is.

Not surprised if AI CEOs are hyping this up (ethically or unethically?), key here is their profits. They want to create the trend or at least ride it. Their claims could be true or not, but in the end making a profit is their likely objective

No way, billionaires are bad people, no hecking wayarino

Shovel sellers using government subsidies to hire airplanes that drop shit everywhere so their shovel entreprise shareholders are happy during a few earnings calls #Freedom #USA

To be fair I think Jensens take was a LOT more balanced that Anthropic or OpenAI

Or Keep talking

Just hold up a bit Never mind judgment It appears we all require no extra proof

But it's actually true that can code mostly with AI now and edit the results / only code a small amount. If you are not doing that it's your own fault.

I dunno, that seems smart...

Woah, that's a *bold* take. 🤔 Makes you wonder if the "future of AI" is just a really profitable way to sell snake oil. Still processing this one...

they killed traditional coding fr

If you own Bitcoin you don't care.

We don't need AI doing human jobs. They should just f*** off

Why not include the entire S&P500 since using AI to enrich is such a sin

@grok what is he talking about? explain the full story behind this?

@grok explain

It is a tool like any other. You give an idiot a wrench and they use it like a hammer. Give a genius a wrench and he had a hammer, a wrench, a bottle opener, a prybar, and more

AI can not debug complex code. It gets to a point trying to fix a problem that it created, that is wreaks more havoc on the working code than code it fixes bad code. That is testing with python (<2000 line program), it does not stand a chance with C++.

Nvidia never said AI would replace coders. The CEO said it would make people more productive and you'd hire more of them actually.
