Everywhere you look the Internet is slowly dying and there's nothing we can do about it. The end of an era. Sad.
This is one of the bad outcomes of AI. I do think there's a potential to fix it (at least at social media level), if someone makes a restricted hardware which has its own social media. Similar to how cheaters are less in gaming consoles unlike PC.
We just need govt documentation based verification for future social media platforms

Human to machine interaction are converging to small set of endpoints, Whereas machine to machine interaction are becoming more covering the gap. Probably the content creation is going behind paywalls from agent/llm abuse.
This calls for celebration! This is the first step to move away from the hive mind of the internet into pure individualism. Once the internet was filled with actual information mixed with biases and people were confused. Now, everything is accepted as AI misinformation!
There is loads of activity on the internet. Unless there is a catastrophic event like a nuclear war, I believe the internet will remain.
