It’s a global problem: extending the visa exemptions currently available for NHS staff would be a good start in attracting people to choose the UK over other destinations for a teaching career…

Hugely proud of our Year 7 students who took part in this auspicious event and of Daniel who gave a tremendously confident reading. Well done Year 7's what a fabulous community we are.

And our second afternoon didn’t disappoint either, with another waterfall and a hike up a glacier.

The quality of teaching will not improve if we only give new teachers 36 weeks of training, writes @ProfGerJones, who says two-year ITT courses are needed to create a truly 'world-class' workforce tes.com/magazine/analy…

Why we need two-year ITT courses

Teacher training courses are so short that trainees only have enough time to learn how to survive in the profession - and no more, says Professor Geraint Jones

So fed up with @British_Airways With young family on train GLA to London. Train now cancelled at Birmingham. We were all booked BA GLA to LHR. No support from BA at GLA. Left to own devices. Food run out on train. Children struggling. Very angry. No idea when we will get home!

Why oh why oh why do they make it so hard to train and recruit them? If providers didn’t have their hands tied with such silly bureaucracy they’d have time for the things that matter. It’s bewildering when you look at how complicated they’ve made it to become a teacher.

43% of physics trainees recruited is a real problem - particularly when you consider the secondary demographic bulge that’s coming DfE misses its own teacher training recruitment targets | Tes tes.com/news/dfe-misse…

Contract signed. New job. Almost a year since I had to leave a job I loved. Lucky to now have another one to love as well. I’ve been busy with my consultancy business in the meantime and that’s been fun. Learnt so much and that won’t be wasted. Things can only get better. 🎵

This amazing graphic shows most of the cognitive biases and organizes them into themes. But from the lens of evolution, if a cognitive bias increased fitness it it a not a design flaw, but a design feature onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.100…

This report by Adrian Bethune is full of really important reminders of why teachers teach, what the fundamentals of teaching are and why we need to push back on the current system that doesn't give us the time or the breathing space to do all of these vitals things.

Thanks for sharing 🙏
