Sometimes, the way through isn’t to fight the wave but to meet it fully. open.substack.com/pub/nikdo/p/me…

Sometimes the most valuable piece of the puzzle is discovered in the most mundane, unexpected, and seemingly insignificant place.

As a product manager, avoid challenging stakeholders’ ideas, even if you’re certain they won’t succeed. You would get into emotional turmoil and possibly just substitute their naive ideas with your own. Instead, play along and relentlessly pursue the shortest path to validation.

Based on my current perception of AI-related risks (significantly high) and projected timelines (within my daughters' lifetimes), I'm earnestly striving to find harmony with this mindset.

Somebody comes to you in 2003 and explains AI safety risks we will face in 20 years. “Nah, sounds like a sci-fi. Dangerous, but won’t happen.” And now the exact same with 2043 is happening…

This thread presents some great examples of self-delusion in teams. I've seen too many times this “we can do it, just push harder” culture.
