My running goals for 2026: 1. State age group record in 10 mile on March 7th. 2. Qualify for Boston March 15th 3. get back under 140 pounds by summer, 130 by fall 4. 5k - sub 18 5. 10k - sub 37 6. Half (this one is crazy i know - but aim high fail high!) - sub 1:20 7. This…

I really like OPUS 4.6 quality but the token burn is excessive. I'm taking GPT 5.3 codex for a spin now. Has anyone used both enough the have a good feel for performance and tokenomics of each?

Today was one of those days you just wanted to be outdoors in it forever! This week got me back to 58 miles with a 20 mile long run with 2300 feet of elevation. The pace was a minute per mile faster than last week with much lower heart rate so my neuromuscular system is…

Hot take: Unless you genuinely need another way to interact with an agent, don't waste time and tokens building one. There are endless things to work on while learning. You aren't building a new chair to sit in, just because you can. The one you have works. Focus!

This morning, well before the sun came up, I arrived at the parking lot to meet the person I planned to run with. My leg hurt - a lot. Getting there early gave me time to walk some, jog a little and try to get it loosened up and less painful, so I wouldn't be limping as we…

OPUS 4.6 just burned 9M tokens in one pass on something 4.5 would have solved burning 400k. Not worth it - i just switched back to 4.5! Has anyone played with GPT 5.3 codex yet?

If OPUS 4.5 ate tokens, OPUS 4.6 guzzles them.

Don't worry about a bunch of software engineers losing their jobs. Worry about what a bunch of unemployed engineers will do to yours. Engineers are lifelong learners who cannot do their job without learning another specialization in which to apply their craft. Programming isn't…

Built something today that finally feels right. Not flashy. Not viral. Just… correct. If you’re a runner, you know the difference between advice that sounds smart and advice that actually matches your body. strideiq.run

I'm back to a normal higher carb eating pattern now. I dropped 18 pounds while injured - and now switched from dropping the weight to fueling the grind! I'm hoping my blood plasma expands, neuromuscular system readapts and my mitochondria get back in gear this week or next!…

woke up at 1 am - coded for 2.5 hours, worked 10 hours, ran 1.5 hours - ate bacon eggs and pancake - it was a good day!

End of the build sprint today. Just wrapping automated release safety testing (golden paths, CI gates, the whole “don’t blow up production” checklist). Thinking one more quick phase before I finally push to prod later. It’s brutal to stop tinkering when everything still runs…

Got my run is right as the frontal boundary ushered in the cold. It capped my first full week back running. It's not fast or flashy, but so grateful to be running again!

Rather than be condescending about what others don't know, try sharing knowledge. Instead of trying to feel relevant with false bravado - try kindness.

It is interesting, and a bit hilarious, to read all the posts about vibe coding. You have the devs and code geeks in denial - screaming alone into the wilderness that they are still needed. You have the kids telling you they just built an app that tells you it's an app and they…
