No. Still called PCR. Just that it's NOT BARELY AVAILABLE, that nobody outside of anyone who truly cares, knows what the actual f*ck that is.

One for the #covidcautious community A family member in the UK was asking me about long covid, as he and his son are experiencing weird symptoms following a “cold”. I asked him if they got PCR tests, and he said “what’s that?” Are they called something different in the uk?

Is it worth all the respie wearing, Far-UVC deploying and air filtrating to be able to keep my parents healthy so I may have a few more years enjoying music from our (their) time, together? Why yes, yes it is. Josh White, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Ray Charles... 🐤

Brings to mind my simplistic "equation". An FFP3 that fits me like a glove, costs me about €6-7. I stretch the use of it, depending on activity. Accumulated usage is around 8-16 hours per piece, on average. Far, far cheaper than hospitalisation and long term medication costs. 🤷🏽‍♂️

A major issue with being proactive, is that upfront costs are clear. For example, an air purifier costs X amount to buy and Y amount to run. The benefits are less clear. And that's the problem Found this in a recent article. Turns out one sick day costs society over 100 Euros!

The nice auntie at the store who sees your crappy bra and helps you find a bra that actually fits is not anti-bra and is not "policing" your titties.

I'm going to be a bit vulnerable in this thread, which is for the people who care & have been failed by public health. I care deeply about people, and it saddens me to see masks with an apparent poor fit, especially when I know the person is trying their best to stay safe 1/12

I have been cooking more "comfort food" dishes recently. And here is one of them. Oden-style braised radish, tofu and mushrooms. Managed to find konyaku noodles and they worked a treat. Transported myself back to a quiet alley in the middle of Tokyo.

Inhalers. In-f*cking-halers are being blamed for the sh*t what was already declared IRREVERSIBLE since top scientists warned about the point of NO RETURN in the early 1980s. If you don't understand how eugenics, ableism and related propaganda work, well, I've got news for you...

Current stage of capitalism: your medications are to blame for global warming. Soon it will be mobility aids, breathing tubes, IVs etc “use too much plastic”. Never mind the carbon emissions of corporations and private jets, how dare we want to BREATHE.

Unhelpful public health advice..

Mm-hmm

You fixate on coughs/fever/hospitalisation Meanwhile, billions w/no obvious symptoms are sustaining brain damage Empathy. Logic. Foresight Invisible, ignored, unstoppable You’re all acting like nothing is happening Covid isn’t just a virus. It’s a quiet collapse of humanity.

True, except that Covid has not ended…

It’s been more than two years since the pandemic ended, but millions of Americans are still living with long COVID. That’s a catchall term for COVID symptoms lasting at least three months after first testing positive. Symptoms can vary from person to person, but they range from…

Thank you for pointing this out, @nickelpin 💪🏽 There are quite a few PM (Particulate Matter) readers on the market now that combine CO2, RH (Relative Humidity), Temperature and tVOC (total Volatile Organic Compounds) monitoring. IAQ is really worth your time and understanding.

PM2.5 pollution particles attach to a person's red blood cells through breathing them in, but can be completely stopped by wearing a FFP2 mask! (KN95, KF94 equivalent) This is solid proof of respirator masking effectiveness versus pollution
