It has come to my attention that my legitimate social media account linked in my profile is shadow banned on this site and reported as suspicious. It is legit, active, and you should follow me on [censored] to keep up on Android Text development news. This account is dead.

Watching people leave Twitter is disheartening. These are people that are down, jobless, living uncertainty. Many are leaving their life's work. And, yet, so many are trolling this group. Blaming them for content moderation. Calling them out as lazy. Lacking all compassion.

I wonder what the last tweet will be. Odd to see the last day of an era

I don't know who needs to hear this, but calling down a legion of online harassment on your employee is most definitely the sort of thing you should seek coucil for in California.

Have always been fascinated by Flow fields. Finally, I built a special Canvas on #JetpackCompose to facilitate that! 🥳 #creativecoding #AndroidDev

What I thought OS development would be like: deep CS problems on a regular basis What OS development is really like: Lots of rectangles that get dirty in expensive ways.

UX is all a user will ever see. Everything else doesn't matter.

💡 What’s a piece of advice you’d give someone who wanted to become an #AndroidDev?

👏

Shortly after joining as Android DevRel Engineer for Compose, this was one of the first feature requests I made: issuetracker.google.com/227146125 And now it's here 🥲❣️ May I present you `supportingText` API in Material 3's TextField, coming up very soon [android-review.googlesource.com/2171560]

😍

Excellent post about some TextField best practices.

Prevent synchronization issues in your app! We have best practices for handling TextField state in #JetpackCompose. We’re also working on improving TextField capabilities! Get the details in @astamatok's blog → goo.gle/3RKQY8Q

Not _exactly_ Android: Check out new animated emojis from noto. (Perfect for use on conference slides) googlefonts.github.io/noto-emoji-ani… Props to @jenniferdaniel and team for the launch

Recursive is a great font for showing what variable fonts can do. Both of these are the same font file loaded at the same font size. Everything else is variation settings. There's a handy table of font variation settings supported by google fonts here fonts.google.com/variablefonts

Hot take: there's literally nothing stopping Americans from using metric. It's a setting on all our phones.

Was reviewing text usage in apps for some Compose research. I see one of you has shipped a <marquee> tag in production. 👒💁‍♂️
