This car was parked outside my local 24-Hour Fitness Center about a month ago. It might belong to a former employee of the British Broadcasting Corporation now living in Denver, whose initials are M.Y. and who went to work for them in 1971. Maybe?
Here’s Jemima, performing critical #Hedgewatch action from our second-floor balcony. The dog-walkers are out in force on this beautiful October Saturday afternoon,
Here’s Jemima, relaxing on our balcony in anticipation of today — International Cat Day. I said to my wife, “Isn’t that every day?” She replied, “Well, for them — yes.”
Celebrating the fourth anniversary of Jemima's Gotcha Day (July 3, 2021). Greetings to cat lovers everywhere from Denver, Colorado.
I can tell ahead of time when an OF "chick" shows up, because it involves some rando "liking" an obscure tweet I made ages ago. The vast majority depict highly ordinary-looking women (not even remotely exceptional), so what's the appeal? Are they making any money this way?
Mesa County clerk Tina Peters gets NINE YEARS in prison. Suck on it, Tina, you unmitigated piece of barely human excrement! huffpost.com/entry/tina-pet…
In honor of #InternationalCatDay, here is our five-year-old rescue, Jemima, who celebrated her third Gotcha Day with us in July. Many thanks to @DDFL Denver Dumb Friends League for bringing us together!!!
Attended @ccityopera Central City Opera's 7/31 performance of Puccini's "La fanciulla del West." Great matinee crowd, terrific orchestra (as usual). Kara Thompson (Minnie) and Grant Youngblood (Jack Rantz) were decent. Standouts: Christopher Job and Matthew Cossack.
Last night's @thespco St. Paul Chamber Orchestra concert with Richard Goode was spectacular! Two Mozart piano concertos, Nos. 18 and 23, played with nuance, and JOY! Three well-deserved curtain calls.
Honorable mention goes to a bowl full of wicker furniture.
Saw "Samson & Delilah last night @OperaColorado. Mediocre singing of an uninspiring opera. Saint-Saens is an excellent orchestrator but an insipid vocal writer. One each decent aria + duet, nice ballet. No surprise his other 9 operas are NEVER performed. Nice sets and lighting!
Really bad joke today from one of our IT guys: Him: "I see Red Hat Linux is holding their annual users' conference here. You know why they decided to set up deep inside the Denver Convention Center?" Me: "Nope. Why?" Him: "No Windows."
It's about time that unindicted war criminal kicked the bucket -- 50 years too late, IMO.
I just picked up this book from my local library by Janet Horvath (@playinglesshurt) [They recently acquired a copy based on my request.] Compelling reading so far, with a story that must have been difficult to write. Highly recommended!
My granddaughter (age 11, grade 6) was over today with her clarinet. She's in her first week of music lessons. Me: "Do you know how to put it together?" Her: "Yes." Me: "Do you know how to play it?" Her: "Yes." Me: "Do you know how to play Mozart's Clarinet Sonata in E?" Her: 🥺
