Open ChCh is a fabulous festival that enables local citizens to engage with local buildings beyond a ‘real estate’ type of viewing.
My @openchch weekend: Public Trust Office with the best tour guides ever (Mum & Dad who used to work there), a Ngāi Tahu tour with Joseph Hullen, plus a peek into Hurst Seager Red House. my.christchurchcitylibraries.com/blogs/post/ota… #openchch ^DR
We owe a huge thanks to all our building partners who shared their exceptional works or architecture with everyone over Open Chch weekend. The Mayor of Christchurch @LianneDalziel invited people into the Mayoral Lounge and onto the balcony of the Civic Building @ChristchurchCC
We plan to carry on doing this! What a magical weekend. Thank you for coming out in your thousands, Ōtautahi Christchurch. Tell us your favourite architectural experiences from #openchch
Intrigued discussion hummed through New Zealand's oldest cell block as Cantabrians explored some of Christchurch's most interesting buildings. dlvr.it/SPYYys
Next stop on my voluntourism day out (thanks @openchch ) allowed me to hear an amazing talk by architect Peter Kent at the Ōruapaeroa/Travis Wetland info kiosk. Described as referencing neo - gothic, Māori & Japanese forms, it's a true wee gem sitting … instagr.am/p/CdAaujsLvh3/
Mum & Dad met at Public Trust. So they were my personal tour guides and shared lots of stories. Kia ora @openchch, we had a super special weekend. Thank you x
Did the Ngāi Tahu art and architecture tour with Joseph Hullen. Was an incredible experience, from Margaret Mahy playground to Market Square. Perfect autumn day for @openchch exploring.
More from @openchch @ucnz forestry building open day at this fabulous 1970 brutalist building by Hall & Mackenzie. I feel like if you came here as a student, the architecture world really make you feel like you were part of something. instagr.am/p/Cc_wxWBPDPS/

It's one of 41 buildings included in an architecture tour run by Open Christchurch.
Today in @openchch visits - Abberley House. Classic cottage with ingenious modern extension.
Loved seeing the Hurst Seagar Red House. A stunner! There's nothing like getting to see inside places you've seen from the outside a zillion times. Thank you @openchch!
We were lucky to be at this one, a Sisters of Mercy chapel on the Villa Maria campus, when the architect was there. That’s a large pounamu cross inside another cross window. @openchch
Really enjoyed looking into the historic chapel of the Community of the Sacred Name, thanks to the innovative @openchch. Nurse Maude’s actual bike is still in the building too, but not pictured (these are sourced pics, not mine)
Nothing like en endorsement from a former festival director! 😊 openchch.nz
Had a nice couple of hours traipsing around Chch, peeking into people’s homes and offices, all housed in fascinating buildings, thanks to @openchch - this weekend only! Check out their programme and get nosing eh
It's #OpenChch weekend! Even if you haven't booked in for any of the excellent events on offer you can still rock up to Tūranga and take a self-guided tour. Pick up a tour booklet on He Hononga | Connection, Ground Floor. openchch.nz
