writing C in 2025? this is the book. > this book covers the new C23 standard and teaches how to write safe, fast, and modern C code that actually scales. > perfect for embedded devs, systems engineers, and anyone who wants to master the language that built everything
programming is not learnt by books , its learnt by segfaults
My full time job is writing C in 2025. I will still be writing C in 2035. All of it to the C89 standard (plus C99 comments).
Not sure about the modern , 2025 characterisation and all that ,some wizards who are custodians of the standard are not so enthusiastic about c23 and swear you don't need it , so it's at best a split opinion
Man, I remember college days when we learned C, haven't used it since.
Definitely great book that teach you new way of thinking in C, but is not for beginners.
This book is written by a person who co-designed the C23 standard. He throws a lot of nuances at the reader. Fine if one is already prepared, but it's by no means aimed at teaching/elucidating/clarifying how to use C effectively.
