Does anyone have worse customer service than @DisneyPlus and @hulu? I can’t use my bundled hulu so they had me make new email addresses and sign up for a free month trial and call it solved? I guess I’m supposed to just keep doing that until the end of time. Seems efficient

Not just the @omahachamber but a group of more than 70 Nebraska employers are now objecting to the anti-transgender proposal. It's hurting recruiting and retention of young workers, they say. nebraskaexaminer.com/2023/04/26/oma…

I just binged Bone Valley in a day and a half because @StarleeKine told me and holy moly. What a depressing, powerfully told commentary on our justice system.

Obviously the point of the statute is to single out and criminalize trans people. But on its face this also looks like it criminalizes a big swath of Shakespeare.

Nebraska comes out with its first anti-trans bill and its a doozy. It is a drag ban that targets trans people. People under 21 years old can't see drag. It defines drag as trans people performing. It would charge trans people with misdemeanors. What on EARTH?

You can't make this up. The Department of Education estimates it will cost $99,900,900 to operate the application for student debt cancelation. They would literally rather spend $100M on means-testing than just canceling the debt automatically.

I have spent the past few days researching the training of Uvalde officers, including the tactics they were expected to use to halt school shooters. The documents are jarring. Here’s a thread of our findings so far. 1/9

So there were two cops and a SRO on the scene and they couldn't stop the guy from entering the building, shut the fuck up with your "good guy with a gun" bullshit.

One thing I hear a lot from former OPS students is that one of the worst parts of being an OPS student is the way people outside of OPS talk about OPS students

my friends and I were interviewed for this story and I am upset 1) most of our interview focused on how fucking hard its been for students + teachers. behavior problems + substance abuse are a symptom of trauma, not the cause. This story is written with no empathy for students.

Friends, It's been an honor to serve District 2 on the Metropolitan Community College Board of Governors these last 4 years, and I'm very excited to tell you I'm running for re-election. Let's talk about what we've accomplished so far, and what we're going to do: 💪🧵

Mutual has been demoing buildings and leaving empty lots across midtown for a decade. Can’t wait to see what they decide to knock down and leave fallow downtown too!

It’s so depressing how much giving up the library for Mutual of Omaha parallels giving up Jobber’s Canyon for ConAgra. Glad we are learning from our mistakes! @Save_OPL
