Jamaica has hurricane insurance. Had this not been in place, we would be pressured to borrow more or to increase taxes to finance our recovery. The insurance contains the stress on the budget and stretches it further. Good for a vulnerable country and economy.

The last time Jamaica failed to earn a medal in the women's 100m at an Olympic games was 36 years ago (1988)! More than half the current population has no recollection before today of Jamaica not being on that podium.
