Individuals at risk of pressure ulcers, particularly wheelchair users and spinal injury patients, can struggle to select low friction undergarments that fit their unique body shapes and sizes. We've invested our time and expertise in creating an extended range of larger sizes.
Wheelchair users with spinal injuries experience terrible quality of life issues from recurrent pressure ulcers. The chances of getting a pressure ulcer can be greatly reduced through a combination of repositioning, optimal cushioning, effective skin care and friction reduction.
We have been working on how to address the challenges faced by bariatric patients, including wheelchair users, when finding properly fitting undergarments. Next week we are launching 3XL sizes of our most popular styles of undergarment for pressure ulcer prevention and treatment
By recognizing the interplay between incontinence and pressure ulcer risk, by using timely intervention, optimal hygiene, skin barrier protection, pressure redistribution and friction reduction, we can minimize the incidence of pressure ulcers in individuals with incontinence.
This week has been continence week. We are often asked if our Undergarments can be worn in combination with continence products. The answer is YES! Pressure ulcer risk is often most acute on the buttocks, so the Undergarments still do their job with a pad worn at the front.
We have completely updated how to select the right size for the range of Undergarments. We hope this will make it easier to select a size that fits comfortably whether using the Boxer or Brief styles.
