My 5 star book review. A book full of leadership revelations. linkedin.com/posts/paul-sym…
Back in 1999, five Australian Army officers (known as ASC1) did its best, alongside brave AFP officers, to settle security conditions prior to, during, and after the East Timor independence ballot. Presidential recognition was bestowed by the Ambassador last week.
The intelligence community was always enriched by the wit, wisdom and analytical prowess of Allan Gyngell. We always learnt by listening to him. He is an enormous loss and a true friend to so many. May he rest in peace.
Mourning the passing of General Jim. A formidable soldier, always alive with innovative/fresh ideas applied to the most intractable of national challenges. We salute you, and we thank you and Anne for such distinguished and selfless service.
Honestly, who hasn’t ever used a term of endearment in their quid pro quo insults before, hmmmm?
20 years ago in East Timor a handful of military officers welcomed a parliamentary delegation led by Tim Fischer (including the current Foreign Minister) to help oversee our valiant efforts to deliver a free and fair ballot. Tim’s leadership was inspiring. We salute him.
