When housing is both a human right and an investment opportunity, government needs to ensure that the rights and needs of the more vulnerable community are protected.

In the town of North Rustico, nearly half of all renter households pay more than 30% of their income on shelter costs. It is one of the most "rent poor" communities in all of PEI. Rustico's MLA is proposing alarming changes that would make renting in his district even harder.
While the Island saw its rates of impaired driving fall slightly last year, PEI continues to see the highest rates in Canada, apart from the territories. Our urban and rural transit systems need to be accessible outside of the 9-to-5 commute: on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physicians across PEI are opposed to these changes because we know what practising here is like. Forcing through these unilateral changes will make family doctors quit and worsen the desperate situation in our hospitals. We can’t fix primary care by breaking family practice.
