Because these people have a history of being oppressed. I am a straight, white, first world, agnostic, male. I haven’t experienced 1% of the hardship in my life that they have. So yeah, we should give them a bit of praise every now and then because they fucking deserve it.
Why shine a light on any developer based on their sexual orientation? Or racial one for that matter. I'm not understanding the need to do this in a community that has nothing to do with sexual preference or gender or race.
I don't think people realise how lucky we are to have a company like Valve behind Steam.

no... no... I said I wouldn't spend anymore money on tf2 I told myself I wouldn't.
I respect looking to avoid sending money to Valve during this update, but I just wanted to casually mention that map stamp/filter money goes 100% to the creators. It's one of the only things Valve does not take a cut of, if you'd like the maps and want to tip the creators!
