"Instead of learning how to code, learn how to think, learn how to break down problems, learn how to communicate clearly." If you cannot use 15 evenings of your time to learn how to code, I don't really trust you to think, break down problems, or communicate clearly.

I no longer think you should learn to code.

I apologize for the emotional vagueposts. I'll be direct now a major breakthrough took place today for a context, I'm working on the problem of synthesizing a program by examples. that is, given a set of tests, like: f(3, [0,1,2,0,2]) = [1,1,1,0,2] f(1, [4,2,3,7,7]) =…

This is a reply from an official Cursor dev (look at the organization badge). Bro's being genuine. He's DM-ing me to give Pro. This is everything you need to know about the people "building" our future. Transforming higher level languages to Assembly is a Technology from 1950s.

The bizarre “debates” over memory allocation strategies reminds me of those over data structures. One of the most important lessons for me to learn was that building data structures is not about *choosing* data structure A, B, or C, it’s about which parts of A, B and C you mix…

So this is the future of WordPress. Automattic - the entity controlling Wordpress .org and the WP trademark - can take over *any* plugin that it wants, when they want, and how they want. Automattic is burning the principles of open source for their own profit. A sad, new era.

We have been made aware that the Advanced Custom Fields plugin on the WordPress directory has been taken over by WordPress dot org. A plugin under active development has never been unilaterally and forcibly taken away from its creator without consent in the 21 year history of…

People who haven’t used debuggers extensively think they are just about inspecting values (and yes you do a lot of that). But breakpoints are super powerful (especially data breakpoints) and there is no analogue to those in printf debugging…

Every programmer should give systems programming a try in their career. People don't realize how many things they are taking for granted and are unaware of.

The more you know, the more you know you have more to know. In the limit, you know nothing.

I would've been a more educated and successful person today if only I realized back in the school and uni days that the reason I don't understand a certain subject is not because I'm dumb, but because the teacher is a lazy insecure power tripping moron.

Short story idea: Turns out that measurements made by AI doesn't cause a waveform collapse since they don't count as observers. Absolute chaos ensues.

One of the downsides of exploring unconventional things is that you attract a lot of freaks, because they think you are one of them. The upside though is you have an opportunity to discover treasures unattainable by the cowards who are afraid to be perceived as freaks.

10x, even 100x, software engineers are real. When you see the difference between a good solution and a bad solution it's night and day. Now imagine all the time wasted refactoring and maintaining the bad solution. It's so important to just do it correctly and not tolerate crap.
