The Academy of American Poets has published this poem, and that is a very, very good thing.

Defector was equal parts kind and crazy enough to let me write about this weird sport again. I talked to over half a dozen people in and around the game about organizational limits, how it impacts players, and what baseball as a whole loses in shrinking. defector.com/the-minor-leag…

just a reminder from an obsessive federal court watcher: if there’s even a sliver of a possibility that a US attorney might squint at that post & see 18 usc 875 or 115, just log off. take a walk. i’m sure it was a great joke & we would’ve loved it, but the judge will not retweet.

Let's stop using the term "innovation" just because "guy trying to sell you something he doesn't own" isn't as catchy

This dissent by CA appellate Justice Stratton tearing apart the "legality" of stopping & searching Mr. Flores bc he wasn't "acting like a normal person" by engaging the cops in polite conversation is the best dissent I have ever read. It ends: "Tell that to Eric Garner."

what's happening in texas makes me despair for the future. not just how weather events are getting more unpredictable/intense but how it is immediately weaponized into a culture war narrative by the most shameless leaders. if this is the template going fwd we stand no chance

It needs to be LOUDLY emphasized that this is a lie. Wind and solar power actually overperformed expected winter capacity in Texas. The state was crippled by frozen coal and gas plants, knocking out over 30 gigawatts of power. Sources below.

Texas Gov. Abbott blames solar and wind for the blackouts in his state and says "this shows how the Green New Deal would be a deadly deal for the United States of America"

Politicians should punish, not pardon, war criminals, and the media must end its dalliance with missile strikes and Navy SEALs. In other words, we must disarm, culturally, politically, tactically, @Jasper_Craven writes. newrepublic.com/article/161121…

This is pretty funny since basically everywhere else players would go have handled covid better than us and would likely pose less risk

Concern around international travel centers on possibility players may not be allowed to re-enter country as quickly as they wish, or that federal and state regulations on testing and quarantines could leave too much to chance, sources said.

This plan gets dumber and dumber

Sources: During the All-Star Break, players will be allowed to travel in the United States, including Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
