Rust-Written Redox OS Sees Initial Wayland Port WebKitGTK ported over, MATE desktop running too for X11 fans on Redox OS. phoronix.com/news/Wayland-O…

C is MEME safe language. You have at least 50000 reasons to joke about it this year tenable.com/cve/newest

This doesn't feel particularly "timClicks" (I've tried very hard to steer away from engagement bait).. but I also sort of feel the need to respond to the idea that Fil-C is a better Rust. Should I make the video? If so, use this thumbnail or something less antagonistic?

I know that many people don't want to admit it and have a hard time accepting it, but Rust is the language of the futures github.com/rust-lang/futu…

Elixir is the language of the future

github.com/practicalrs/ccw - this is a simple AI based code auditing tool that should make it harder to push unwrap() to production 🤣 Enjoy 🤣

I'm excited to announce the first @hyperium_rs user survey! If you've used hyper (or related libraries) just a little or a whole bunch, providing feedback is invaluable and should take less than 5 minutes. Give it a go! seanmonstar.com/blog/hyper-use… #rustlang

If you want to create a program that works correctly, input validation and data sanitization are part of the process. I'm not making these rules. I just follow them, because they make sense. I need to find some time to start writing about it.

Why is the default assumption that a program must handle malicious input or attack over the internet? We have operating system level controls to ensure programs crash when they misbehave.

There are C/C++ wannabe influencers, casual system programmers who are unable to produce 50 lines of C/C++ code without introducing a few security problems.

And keep in mind, these numbers are from Google - they have very good tests, static analysis, etc.. The average C/C++ codebase probably has 10x more vulnerabilities, 1 vulnerability per 100 lines of code or so.

Rust in Android "a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android’s C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise… having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one" security.googleblog.com/2025/11/rust-i…

⚡️OSS Project Spotlight⚡️ Below is a powerful resource monitoring tool for Linux that provides deep insights into system performance, including CPU, memory, I/O, and more — all from an intuitive terminal interface. Learn more: github.com/facebookincuba…

147,6 MB for alacritty after 4 hours. So Rust wins here IMO. OTOH, I'm surprised that devs who use Zig are not able to handle memory management correctly, if that's as easy as they try to sell in their narration.

I need to check alacritty tomorrow after a full day of work.

I've got a nice contract, but from time to time, I'm looking at LinkedIn and Upwork to check what interesting things can be found there. And today I've found this. I'm not sure what to say, but it's good to use spellcheck from time to time...

A few days ago, I received a license for Rust Rover from my company, and today I received permission to use it after hours for my personal projects. So it looks like I'll drop VSCode for a while (but not Helix 🤣). What I'm really happy about is the database schema compare tool.

A few weeks ago I muted both. It's that simple 🤣

my whole feed has been filc and ffmpeg for DAYS holy infosec drama

IMO it's the same thing that was with Linux in the 90s. People who call Rust devs cultists are mentally the same as those who called Linux and Open Source fans communists. I was a Linux user in the 90s, and I'm a Rust dev now. I don't see a difference.

This website loves to talk about Rust as if there is a weird cult in existence. I would love to know where that cult is.
