#SPSP2023 was great! It was fun connecting with @KnoxCollege1837 and @NorthwesternU friends. I really appreciated meeting old twitter/zoom friends IRL and new faculty/grads/post doc friends. Also I have to give a special shout-out to #BLASPR for such an inspiring event ✊🏾.
I’ve thought of this paper by @robertjwest and @SusanMichie a lot since reading it. PER WEEK, 106 new health behavior intervention papers are published, and it would take 68 people working full time to extract all of the relevant info from them.

Why? Because thinking of academic work as a calling limits one's ability to have boundaries between work and life or sense of self. Having good boundaries on work is way healthier than letting work eat into every aspect of life: We are (and deserve to be) more than our work.
Don't ever fall for this kind of BS. You will be infinitely healthier if you always keep in mind that academic science/teaching is a JOB and not a calling/lifestyle/etc.
Eagerly awaiting someone’s tweet about the #rstats code they wrote to reproduce the #nasawebb images
Hey all! This is from my fantastic student Beck. Any pointers?

You’ve been a great student/mentee/lab member. You’ve made waves. I’m super impressed, excited for you, and looking forward to you being in the field! Look out for @jon_ds7 everybody!
With my Social Psychology PhD admissions journey being almost over, I thought that I should share how blessed I have been during this application cycle. Typically, I don’t publicly share my accomplishments. (1/7)
1/n Seeing exasperated "You figured this out NOW?" retweeting by social scientists. And, yes, part of me is also frustrated that some policy makers seemingly thought they could ignore the human element. But maybe we social scientists have some hard lessons to learn too...
What could NIH have done differently during the pandemic? Dr. Francis Collins to @JudyWoodruff: "Maybe we underinvested in research on human behavior. I never imagined a year ago ... that we would still have 60 million people" not get vaccinated. to.pbs.org/2xQQeuL
