The part I care about here is connections. @cityportphillip voted against the Shrine to Sea project. A project that would have provided segregated cycling infrastructure from this new station to the city (St Kilda Road) and Bay Trail (Kerferd Road) 1/2
Got the chance to have a look inside Anzac Station on Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel project! A thread on some of my observations 🧵
#StreetsPeopleLove brings together local residents amenity & environmental needs - to create safe & pleasant streets for people to live, work, play & move in - something a new council could deliver. These #PortPhillip candidates agree. Author'd B Forbath, Box 1105, St Kilda Sth.
Many candidates in #PortPhillip #CouncilElections claim to be "independent". When asked by @theage to declare if actually running as part of a group/assoc, there were denials & "unintentional omissions”. bit.ly/quasiparties Authorised by B Forbath, PO Box 1105 St Kilda Sth

They really can't help themselves! How much does it cost for all these consultations to make such minimal changes to local roads? On another note, yet again another program canned by city of port Phillip without any data to back it up.
On that note... Another ridiculous survey with multiple rounds of drop-in sessions. All for a measly few metres. But on a serious note, option 1, if you can spare a min. 🙏 engage.vic.gov.au/marine-parade-…

Rebuilding community should be a priority for next Council – the key message from last Sunday's forum. 60+ locals heard great examples of the crucial role of Council as connector, innovator & funder of vital local services like early learning, aged care, arts, sports & libraries.
With council elections approaching, it's crucial to support candidates who are willing to challenge the status quo, rather than the ineffective individuals currently. Otherwise, we'll be stuck with another 4 years of conservative, self-serving, and frankly hazardous leadership.
